Guidelines for Heat Treatment and Fabrication

Heat Treatment

ROCKSTAR 400 plates were hardened by quenching and, if necessary, repeated tempering. The hardness of Rockstar plates may be diminished when exposed to temperatures above 200°C. As a result, Rockstar plates are not meant for additional heat treatment.

Cold Forming

ROCKSTAR 400 plates with excellent internal steel cleanliness and uniformity are formable. The suggested minimum bending radius for plates up to 20 mm thick is specified in the tables below. On a case-by-case basis for plate thicknesses greater than 20 mm.

Welding & Cutting
