HARDNESS TESTING

Brinell hardness according to EN ISO 6506-1, on a milled surface 0.3 – 3 mm below surface. Guaranteed Core
hardness shall be 90% of the guaranteed minimum surface hardness.

DELIVERY CONDITIONS

As Quenched /Quenching and Tempered, Sheared or thermally cut edge.

DIMENSIONS

ROCKHARD 400 are supplied in thicknesses of 8 ~80 mm.

TOLERANCES

Tolerances are offered conforming to EN 10029. Tighter tolerances are available and subject to mutual agreement.

ULTRASONIC TESTING

t>10mm as per ASTM A/SA 578LevelB/ EN10160 S2E2/ as per agreed terms.

HEAT TREATMENT AND FABRICATION

ROCKHARD 400 manufactured by Jindal Steel and Power, guarantees its mechanical properties by quenching /quenching followed by tempering. The properties of the processed plates cannot be retained, if exposed to service or preheating temperatures in excess of 250°C. Heating beyond 200°C will have the slight reduction in hardness.

MARKING

Standard low stress marking and paint marking on plates. Color coding provided for clear identification and traceability.

SPECIAL OFFERINGS

Optimally designed chemistry coupled with superior dimensional tolerances help in ease of fabrication. ROCKHARD 400 plates can also be offered in shot blasted and primer coated plates.

WELDING

ROCKHARD 400 can be welded. Recommended to use low hydrogen welding consumable. Approximately 100°C is advisable temperature for pre-heating. Plates must be clean, free from rust, scale and moisture. Product can be welded with all fusion welding methods such as SAW (Submerged Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding).
